baumber windfarm will break noise rules
Dr Christopher Hanning. BSc, MB, BS, MRCS, LRCP, FRCA, MD
"At all sites, maximum turbine noise
exceeds 35dB(A) which puts the human
residents at risk of sleep disturbance
and annoyance".
Report Extract:
"The appropriate mitigation of sleep disturbance and
annoyance from industrial wind turbine noise is a maximum external turbine noise level of 35dB(A) or a setback of at least 1.5km. Enertrag’s predicted external night-time turbine noise levels at the tested properties, which underestimate the likely levels, exceed 35dB(A) at most wind speeds over 6-7m.s-1. Most of the village of Baumber as well as outlying properties are within 1.5km of the proposed site and there is therefore a very high risk that a significant proportion of residents would be adversely affected".
"The turbines therefore present an unacceptable risk of causing sleep disturbance and high levels of annoyance to those residents and, to a smaller number, a risk to health. It must be rejected".
