do you smoke crack???
Baumber 20.5.08. Hobby 1 N. oh, and never really felt the need to smoke crack.- for the uninitiated a Hobby is quite a rare raptor, sort of like small Peregrine Falcon and is summer visitor to these shores.Often seen in this part of Lincolnshire. Cheers Greg.
If the Government aren't lying to us that CO2 causes global warming, doesn't It say smoething about the need to cut down on Coal and rely on Wind energy, if a Summer visitor arrives in Spring?
Hi Derek
we have never said we are against wind turbines only the location of them..... The off shore turbines are far more efficent and unfortuantly in the great scheme of things the turbines they propose here are a drop in the ocean in terms of the power they will generate. Enertrag admitted at the recent road show if the ROC system of subsidies paid by the government which is added to our electricity bills was scrapped this site would cease to be commercially viable. better designed & reburning off of CO2 gasses from the new gereration of power stations
will lessen their carbon foot print. Please donot be mislead by the arguement that on shore wind turbines will soley
save the planet. Also when does summer start... I thought the 1st sign of summer was when the swallows arrive
I have seen plenty in the past few days. And June 21, midsummers day is only 4 weeks away.....
4 Weeks? That means Summer has arrived one month earlier than it should be?
I never said that On shore wind turbines were solely helping prevent global warming, I said effectively every little helps! (By the way, Off shore Wind Turbines cost more and are more expensive to maintain).
In that case........
WE'RE ALL DOOMED!!!!!!
I love the way people take everything so seriously......
It's getting hotter - so? Before this we were complaining it was too cold, and there was going to be an ice age. Before that, it was communism. What are we going to complain about next? The soaring price of pencil sharpeners? The rate of inflation on stinking bishop? The abundance of chimney pots?
Actually there is a counter arguement againts global warming which is that yes the world IS getting hotter HOWEVER it is the result of the fact that we have only recently come (relative to the entire history of the earth) out of the last ice age therefore the earth is going to continue increasing in temperature until it gets to a certain temp. when it will once again decrease resulting in the next ice age (as the earth is continuously going round in a cycle of ice age and non ice age) so technically global warming is completely natural. So basically, stop whining.
YES TO WINDFARMS
OK, despite the fact I loathe BWAG, and the fact I'm for Wind Farms... can whoever is posting that all over the site, stop it unless you have something to back it up with...
(Oh and leave the Wildlife section if you do continue... you know.. here it is completely off-topic).

Derek this is a campain against a local wind farm ... what possessed you to use such an emotive out burst..
we dont want a wind farm here & you know all the reasons why, but we still respect people for their mis guided point of view... you need to lighten up and be more objective.... we are ordinary people like you, standing up for what we hold precious not haters of fellow residents........
Bit strong mate
Before I begin, I should tell you that it is not 'mis guided' but rather, 'misguided'.
When protesting it is perfectly viable to use any form of "emotive outburst" to get people to understand your point of you and perhaps persuade them to not just acknowledge, but to join your side. Particularly strong phrases are often used in campaigns and Derek has utilised one so that people notice - and it has clearly worked because you have, by reading and replying, acknowledged that he is protesting the protestors and thus to some extent he has been succesful as his point of view has stayed in your mind.
Thankyou Mr Ellershaw and all of your well taught English lessons.
Bit strong mate, I am not against anyone who objects to the wind farm, I loathe the members of BWAG who are so uptight on their little pedestals, they are unable to respect the views and EVIDENCE that supports the 'for' arguments.
I respect the BWAG members that respect my views and the views of others like me.

Mmm, it did a bit. Really stemmed from the guy who for some reason decided to rant about my usage of 'loathe'.
On topic again, I myself have seen a Barn Owl too, in recent days.
Is this forum section simply for stating spottings? Or is there a hidden message in here somewhere....

yes...I see it now! On every post that reports a finding circle every tenth letter from start to the last letter you can get to. Then write out those letters that are circled so that they are all in a long line and the underneath transfer the letters into numbers according to the position each letter falls in the alphabet so that you end up with a long string of numbers underneath the letters. The numbers will tell you the exact date of the apocalypse, the letters will tell you how it happens, when rearranged to form a coherent sentence.
