Mast failure

It is nice to see that the mast erected to measure wind speed has collapsed. If it was caused by vandalism then I expect the Wind Company will get the same response from the police as I did when I reported a theft from my property. Zero.

They will erect another.

I hope that theu realise that Baumber is in an RAF low flying area. In fact the whole of Lincolnshire is a low flying area! I am surprised that the sea based turbines have been cleared. Both Donnar Nook and Holbeach bombing ranges are close.

Re: Mast failure

Enertrag should be embarrassed they cannot erect a mast to withstand a bit of wind, not accusing us of knocking it down. Heaven help us when the real things arrive!. How do they know the precise time it fell down? Are they now spying on us from Germany

Re: Mast failure

It will have been sending windspeed data back to Enertrag so the data would have ceased at the point where the axe struck (whoops, meant when the wind blew it down).

On the low flying point, a very good observation but unfortunately MoD don't percieve a problem with turbines and low flying traffic (there is very little low flying around that area anyway, and Belmont is already there to be avoided). They do of course object to anything that is visble to radar, and I suspect this site will be.

Re: Mast failure

ok well if the teens did do it then surely those that did it should be praised....simply go to coningsby newsagents at 7-9pm most nights and you'll see a group there....just thank them.

but refering back to john's comment on the wind turbines. the police are about as likely to ignore you, as they ignore everyone else. they don't they simply dislike you.....alot

no-one believes that!

Re: Mast failure

clearly BWAG just chopped it down. a company that builds wind turbines can build a tiny tester turbine strong enough to withstand wind naturally unless it should encounter...i dont know...say an axe, bulldozer, angry local...i don't know.

clearly it wasnt the wind that knocked it down.

Re: Mast failure

We strongly refute any suggestion that any member wether closely or loosley connected to BWAG had anything to do with the mast falling down, if any accusation is leveled at the group we will take legal action for defamation .

The wind was very strong and vortexing at that time its up to the police to produce convincing evidence.

& while we are on the subject of the mast, BWAG welcomes its reinstatement ,so that the vialbility of the site which (enertrag have stated is marginal).... as well, and if the ROC subsidies where removed, the site would probably only break even.... (Quote from Enertrag at their baumber visit).... could be established & verified.

I would add, if in the event we were ever presented, with any information leading to the conviction of a person or persons responsible for vandalising the mast ,we would not hesitate to pass this to the police and then insist Enertrag publicly forwarded the £5,000 reward to BWAG ,which we would happily use to fund our campaign to halt this inappropriate development.

I hope this deals with this subject unequivocally once and for all.

Re: Mast failure

Simple fact there were abrasions on the guy wire suggesting cutting, met masts will with stand winds far greater than were being recorded around the time the mast fell. Somebody cut this down, who is yet to be disclosed.

How is this Inappropriate? I have yet to see one valid argument against the building of this Wind Farm! The only with any substantial reason is the 'ruining of the view'. So if you don't like it, tough, move away, or just stick with it. 75% of people would live near a Wind Farm! So, you're even outnumbered on that count too!

P.S. There's a £5000 reward for the one to knocked it down?

Could we have a source please to prove this suggestion?

If you're that bothered hunt it down yourself. It's on this site somewhere.

This site?

If you are going to quote numbers out of thin air, back them up please. If someone anti-turbine used statistics you would be asking for a source
