I live just down the road from Anderby so I cannot understand the local's call, “Say No to Wind Farms”. Considering the ongoing proliferation of caravan sites in and around the village, which already contribute to a blot on the landscape, perhaps they are opposed to change that does not bring financial reward. If this is incorrect then why are there no slogans to save our environment? For example:
“Say No to the Unnecessary Use of 4X4s on School Runs”
“Say No to Intensive farming (with its horrible summertime smells and destruction of woodland)”
“Say No to Caravan Sites”
“Say Yes to Sustainable Lifestyles”
I guess, as long as the owners of local business continue to make enough money at the expense of our environment then all is ok with the world, at least in the world of those from Anderby who openly endorse Julia Green’s BNP views on their website:
"We are totally against wind farms. Again this is another issue being pushed on us from Europe. They sound nice but I have not come across anyone local to a wind farm except the land owner they are paying that likes them."
Julia Green and Nick Griffin have many views on many things, most of which are xenophobic and deserve no place in twenty-first century Britain, but what the hell, let’s get the locals to the raise the BNP high, high on the telegraph poles just past Huttoft Primary School.
