Human Rights

Hi, I live in a village called South Leverton, Nr Retford, Notts. Our local Planners have decided to approve a 12 turbine application (Cottam Wind) some to be sited within 500mtrs of property.

My main concern is noise and vibration and I am concerned about the health impact on my family.

Would anyone be aware of any organisation that has championed any objections via infringement of Human Rights ?

I live close to the windfarm near Louth. They make no noise and no vibration.

Hi biffvernon

I don't know how close you are to Conisholme and it maybe you don't hear anything, but there are residents who do and I know of at least one case where they felt they had to move home...

The other point is the Conisholme turbines are actually relatively small, the next generation the ones proposed at Baumber are significantly bigger @ 125 metres and more. The is a size comparision photo posted on our site if you look..

You will have many more of the larger size coming in your neck of the woods..

The future is, turbines approaching 500 feet high...

Re: Human Rights

I live near the Conisholme turbines (if those are the one's you mean) and I have news for you - they do make significant noise (when they are not falling apart that is) and we can't escape them as they are always on the skyline. On calm days we hear a constant thumping in and around our home and on windy days they sound like a plane continually waiting to take off - they have ruined our village.

These relatively small turbines (compared to the newer ones) are bad enough, as for those being planned for the poor folks in Baumber - at 125m they will be massive. I hope they win their appeal and get the plans thrown out.
