blimp day 2

locals show support in numbers on

"blimp day"

bwag has been boosted by the huge levels of support shown by local people for their campaign on thieir first "blimp day". this high profile event was held to show the deep opposition and the groups intention to prevent the construction of the windfarm in the unspoilt area between Baumber, Minting and Wispington.

The distinctive blimp was raised by bwag patron sir peter tapsell (Mp for horncastle) who continues to express his total opposition to the plans

to everyone who came

thank you

for your support

impact is far and wide!

the blimp

the view of west ashby and its listed church reveals a degraded future. visitors on blimp day from the village were dismayed at the size of the turbines that will obliterate historic unspoilt views towards lincoln. many more villages and hamlets miles from the site will also be directly affected.

blimp day "2"

july 11th

the blimp

west ashby will be badly affected

The planning application submitted to ELDC is currently in the validation period prior to its eventual release to parish councils and local residents. With this in mind we will be posting a series of documents online that will help our supporters to write letters to state objections that are based on planning law. In addition it is planned to have an online petition for people to sign to register their feelings. However it is clear that letters from individuals (this is open to all adults in your household) do hold more weight with the planning authorities than a single petition so we plan to do both. So whilst we await formal release of the plans we greatly value your support.

minting overshadowed

minting residents have been "shocked" to discover that their village will be overshadowed by turbines that are "much bigger" than anyone there expected. many homes thought to be screened by trees will not escape direct views and noise of the windfarm
