Baumber windfarm action group

wolds area of outstanding natural beauty

This perspective is from the western side of the Lincolnshire Wolds inside the AONB and shows the stunning view towards Lincoln (the cathedral can be seen between the 2 turbines on the right). The visual impact of this windfarm on this beautiful and historic area will extend deep into the Wolds and span an area up to 25 miles from Baumber. The proposed windfarm will negatively affect a large area of the county and would open the door to the industrialisation of the whole Vale of Lincoln and unspoilt interior of the county. The 130m tall turbines are 26 metres higher than the tallest point in the Wolds and will be inescapable - what price the AONB?

tennyson

Calm and deep peace on this high wold, and on these dews that drench the furze, and all the silvery gossamers that twinkle into green and gold. Calm and still light on yon great plain that sweeps with all its autumn bowers, and crowded farms and lessening towers to mingle with the bounding main. Alfred, Lord Tennyson (1809 – 1892)
